Features of the Folding Camping Trailer
- The low price of these units appeals to many first-time buyers, or families with young children looking for an inexpensive model as an introduction to the RVing lifestyle. Monthly payments can start as low as $99.
- The light weight of this RV allows for easy towing behind most vehicles, including even some small compact cars. It is also possible to unhitch and manoeuvre the RV by hand, to fit into a tight spot.
- The compact size allows for quick setup and easy storage between uses.
- Lots of living space once set up, including facilities for kitchen, dining and sleeping areas. Some models even include a slideout section which increases the area of floor space in the centre of the unit.

- Larger models must be towed by heavy-duty vehicles: but do not require a special highway movement permit. Often these are set up to serve as a seasonal home, similar to the Park Models.

Fifth wheel travel trailer
Towed by pick-up trucks with a special “fifth wheel” hitch, they generally have taller ceilings and more slide-out rooms with as many as four in some models. They are the most spacious RVs available, but don’t let the size intimidate you, they are delightfully easy to handle.

Sports utility RV (SURV)
SURV stands for sport-utility RV. This is the new craze in RVing because it allows you and your “toys” to travel to your favourite off-road destinations without leaving behind the comforts of home. Beds, dinettes and couches are typically designed to fold up against interior walls to maximize rear cargo space. But what distinguishes an SURV from other trailers or towable RVs is a swing-down ramp and enough cargo space for a variety of off-road vehicles such as ATVs, dirt bikes, jet skis, canoes, snowmobiles or motorcycles.

Features of the Class A Motorhome
- Spacious and well equipped, even the basic models are well-appointed and roomy. But for anyone looking for the ultimate in luxury and elegance, Class A manufacturers have luxury models costing as much as $1 million.
- Slideout rooms give added space, moving the RV’s exterior wall outward at the touch of a button, to enlarge the living, dining or kitchen area by up to 1 meter (3½ ft).
- Smooth and stable ride when the vehicle is properly loaded. Any experienced driver can take the wheel, and no special licence is required (unless the vehicle has air-brakes).
- A small vehicle can be towed behind, for short side trips once the motorhome is parked. Or you might prefer to tow a trailer to carry your boat or golf cart.

Class B camper van
These units are an engineering marvel. They have kitchens, washrooms with showers and sleep up to four people and all this is contained in a slightly stretched full-size van with the addition of a raised roof. Class Bs are easy to drive, fit in a normal parking space, are easy on fuel, and are often used as a second vehicle.

Class C mini motorhome
The Class C motorhome has a distinctive cab-over bunk that makes this RV easy to recognize. Built on a commercial cut-away van chassis Class Cs have evolved tremendously over the years. Park trailer
The Park Model Trailer 102 is similar to a large conventional travel trailer designed to be towed by a special or heavy-duty tow vehicle (auto, SUV, mini-van, pickup truck), without a special highway movement permit. It is designed for seasonal use, built on a single chassis mounted on wheels, and requires onsite-hookup to local utilities.

Features of the Park Model Travel Trailer 102
- Designed for seasonal use: this unit may function like a cottage, but it is built as an RV so it must conform to the CSA Z-240 Standard for RVs with a maximum area of 37.2 square meters (400 sq ft) in the setup mode.
- Designed to be towed infrequently, it is not fitted with a 12-volt system for fixtures and appliances. Once on site in the set-up mode it must be connected to local utilities. Their maximum width when being towed is 2.6 meters (102 inches), so they can be moved with a regular trailer licence.
- Comfort and convenience: these units come complete with sleeping, dining, cooking and bathroom facilities, similar to other RVs.
- Slideout options give extra space. These RVs do not exceed 2.6 meters (8½ ft) in width, but may include at least one or two slideout units to increase the size of the living areas. The slideouts operate at the touch of a button to extend a section of the outside wall up to 1 meter (3½ ft).
